Clouded Leopard Distribution

Clouded Leopard DistributionJust a quick look at the range of the clouded leopard in the wild.

The preferred habitat of the clouded leopard is tropical forests, mangroves and habitats. It is found in Southeast Asia in an area ranging from southern China, Himalayas, India, Bangladesh, Burma and Nepal. The map shows the distribution of the endangered yet stunning cat.

Clouded Leopards face various threats in their territories including habitat destruction and poaching for use in Chinese traditional medicines. Our best hope of protecting this marvelous feline lies in generating greater awareness at public and governmental level and lobbying for stricter trade embargoes and vigil on animal parts!

Ezra sez... She really wants to see one in the wild someday. Thanks for helping keep people informed so she might get to see one in its natural habitat.

I really hope that the rest of the world can someday persuade the Chinese to stop including wild animal parts in their traditional medicine. It has been shown over and over again that these parts do no good as medicines.

The clouded leopard is furry beautiful. All countries should do more to purrtect all the wildlife, and to make the countries like China who are one of the worst furr animal abuse change their ways.
