Apparently the situation in Zimbabwe is very very bad. The political and economical meltdown has meant that the people and wildlife in that part of the world are suffering greatly. Here is another post from Wildlife Direct revealing the grim situation:

I just hope that things turn for the better soon otherwise the damage to the country's populace and fauna and flora may be irreparable!

What a shame. When you have staring people they will do most anything to survive. How sad this all is. So very, very sad. :)
