As regards Ivory trade in Africa, here is an interesting write-up on the subject that is worth reading to gain a perspective at what's driving the Ivory trade and the recent CITES move to allow African countries a one-off sale of Ivory stockpiles.

I read that article at length. That's really disheartening. I love wildlife it saddens me when greed destroys something as precious as the elephants. In the end we all miss out.
