Tiger kills his mother in a zoo

Small cages, lack of funds and facilities - these are the problems that affect animals in captivity everywhere. From privately owned exotic animals to state-run zoos in many parts of the world - lack of space and inadequate management is leading to increasing number of mishaps. In this instance a full grown adult male tiger killed his mother in India while they were placed together in a six by four feet cell. A very tragic event, that brings to light the plight of captive big cats, in that park in particular - and in many other such 'zoos' in general. More here.

think how crazy we would go if kept in small cages or even in enclosures and weren't free to roam as we were intended. It's no wonder these poor creatures lash out at those nearest them.

What saddens me is in the effort to save the tiger situations like this occur. Poor management and a lack of resources result in tragedy. What a sad loss.

What a sad situation.

I saw your video yesterday but was speechless so didn't comment. It was sweet how the leapord took care of the baby but I still have a hard time watching the laws of nature at work. Heck, I can't even watch cartoons of animals - I'm such a wuss!
